| Administrator of Powers Perilous | I don't think serialized books are a good idea. Overall, it seems like authors get the best results when they basically write out the whole story (or at least map it out thoroughly) and then chop it into pieces. When they try to write a bit of the story, and then keep adding on more isolated stories to it—or worse, try to elongate the plot across more installments that were originally unplanned—the whole series just turns into an awkward, embarrassing mess. Of course, there are exceptions, but I think the kids at home watching this probably should not attempt it. That is actually related to something someone said earlier. I think. I was reading the posts and one of them made me think of it. |

| ▲ that guy ▲ | I have to agree. I think it's pretty obvious that JKR did not have the ending mapped out when she produced the first installment, or at the very least, did not chart an obvious chain of events that would reasonably get there. The result is a badly laid out, twisting scrap mess of dei ex machina and plot-induced stupidity. |

| The Grammar Nazi | That's what I said. That was a beautifully abrupt change of subject. =] |
