How this forum works

People post in this forum because they make a very admirable decision: they would like to improve their work and they have chosen to ask us for help. Please respect everyone individual that posts in this thread and give them criticism in a constructive manner.

However, this is also not the forum for you to baby individuals who have requested help. This is not the forum for people to hear about how great they are; I'm sure they could find plenty of places where that would be the case. By posting in this forum, you agree to allow the members of Inspired Opulence to freely criticize the work that is done here, provided that none of what is said actually violates the site rules.

What can be posted in this forum?

Almost anything that pertains to an RPG. You may ask for criticism on your character sheet, on your roleplaying sample, on miscellaneous posts, your character history, and other substantial pieces of writing related to roleplaying your character.

Who can offer their criticism?

Any member may post in these threads. In fact, posting is highly encouraged. We want members who are driven, helpful, and active members of the community. The best way for members to demonstrate this is by participating in the many venues that we offer.

What is defined as constructive criticism?

First and foremost, constructive criticism is still criticism. It does not involve posting "this is great" and leaving. You are looking for any errors, inconsistencies, and inadequacies. However, all criticism is given with the desire to improve, to construct. You aren't pointing them out just to make the author feel bad. You are posting them because you feel that -- by addressing the issue -- that the piece can improve.
