In order to create a thread in this forum, you should make sure that you have a plot and thread dynamics already created. In fact, storytellers (AKA game masters) are expected to have all the structural details about their thread already finished before they even move to make a new thread. Incomplete RPGs, or RPGs that do not fit the criteria will either be deleted or — if salvageable — moved to the Freeform RPG forum.
In order to qualify as a "Storyteller-Led" RPG, you must meet the following criteria:
- Your RPG must revolve around a central storyteller. This storyteller must have already created a realm that is usable for the purpose of the thread. He must also have worked out the intricacies of character participation, including but not limited to character sheets, character restrictions, and post restrictions.
- The storyteller must be active to dictate the events and outcomes for all the participant parties. This means that you should not make it necessary for the players to resolve their own conflicts and create their own plotlines. You as the GM should be doing this. If not, it belongs in the Freeform Section.
- As a game master, your participation as a player is not mandatory, nor is it even encouraged. We ask that as a general rule, you do not favor one of your creations in the RPG.
While we hate to impose unnecessary rules, we feel that for the enjoyment of all parties involved, that there are certain rules to follow:
- Please make sure that you know your realm. If you create information or backstory for your RPG, make sure that it is readily accessible or written down so not to create conflicts. As the storyteller, it is your responsibility to ensure that the thread goes smoothly.
- You are limited to ~3 Storyteller-Led RPGs. This is not a hard limit, and there is room for flexibility. However, should you choose to crank out 10 half-finished RPGs, expect for the administration to consult with you.
In the interest of keeping things fair for all of your members, we ask that you do not make things too difficult for yourself. As you the game-master, you are expected to dictate the outcome and events as well as create a story. Thus, the progress of the thread depends upon you, so we ask that you do not overburden yourself.
